Mr. Ries has written over five thousand reports pertaining to the examination of questioned documents. The reports have been prepared for:

Philadelphia Police Department
Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office
Police Departments of the counties surrounding Philadelphia including Bucks, Chester, Montgomery, and Lancaster counties.
Federal government agencies including the Department of Justice, the FBI, Naval Intelligence Service, Immigration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
Agencies of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania including the Departments of Welfare, the Liquor Control Board, the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court, and the Office of the Attorney General.
Agencies of the state of Ohio including the Attorney General’s Office, numerous police departments within the state, the Sheriffs Departments, and the Highway Patrol.
The Philadelphia Public Defenders Office, the Federal Public Defenders of Philadelphia, Wilmington, Delaware, Camden, New Jersey, and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s office.

In addition, Mr. Ries has written many reports for law firms and corporate clients in the performance of his duties as a forensic document examiner.

Mr. Ries has testified as an expert witness in the field of questioned documents over four hundred fifty times in courts of record. His appearances and testimony include:
